Since the weather here has so far been unseasonably wet and windy for Autumn, birding has been somewhat out of the question so I thought revisit a film I made some years ago regarding birding plumage and the various stages, for those interested, especially those who have not seen this video.
The Superb Fairy-wren male, which many of us know as the Blue Wren, is only truly blue when it adorns its breeding plumage for only part of the year. When it eclipses out of breeding plumage the rest of the year it looks similar but not the same as the female, the male retains the blue tail.

The female Fairy-wren remains unchanged but is quite different to the non breeding male, having a brown tail, orange eye ring and beak and light brown plumage.:

Enjoy your week as the seasons continue to change and the birds are in the fly-ways and by-ways moving to their next seasonal habitat, except for our territorials that remain year round, of which make up most of our birds including the ones in the above video.

Just as the different plumage changes depict physically each stage of a birds development and life cycle so our physical demeaner and attitude depicts out true nature. The positive, joyful thankful Balcony Person lives longer, is less stressed, has more friends, enjoys life, has lower blood pressure, healthier immune system, less likely to get sick and is less likely to be hospitalised than the negative time draining Basement person.
Basement people are chronically self-focused, stressed, anxious and depressed usually holding grudges, usually holding unforgiveness towards another. They may be bitter, resentful, disappointed due to their unfulfilled expectations with a sense of injustice. They often develop chronic health issues and auto immune conditions as they hold in their emotions of anger and grief rather than dealing with them as Jesus recommended.

The Bible bears testimony and research backs it up, that our attitude, demeaner and persona all display where we are emotionally, physically and spiritually. A smile speaks volumes, and has the power when made with good eye contact to bring joy, delight and a sense of recognition to another when it is given. A smile costs nothing to give, but gives much. Lives have been saved by a smile be it random or from a family member or friend. It says I see you and acknowledge you and give you worth and acceptance. A sense of Significance and Security are both conveyed through a smile and these are the two most wanted acknowledgements we all desire – a simple smile will convey these, from a kind joyful and thankful heart.

“ Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” – Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NLT)
