My wife and I pray all my dear followers a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year for 2022. Thank you all for your encouragement and support over this very challenging year.

I would finish the year sharing our latest arrival, for the first time in our backyard, as the local Kookaburra family have finally been granted permission by the Noisy Miners to co exist as part of the local bird community. They have recently brought forth a youngster, our first juvenile Kookaburra.

It has been practicing his call, which is also a call for food, as the parents seek out small reptiles and worms to feed it. This what his call sounds like.

This what it will eventually sound like when it starts calling with its family to mark its territory throughout the day.

I was also blessed to see this youngster as my first bird yesterday in our local park. Notice the downy feathers and lack of blue on the wings.

That’s all for now. It is encouraging to see new life and the hope of new and better things as we end this year. May we all be kept safe with our families, to enjoy the coming year, and let us be thankful to the Lord our Creator and Sustainer for keeping us and preserving us.

I have just finished writing my 3rd book, which will be edited and reviewed for the next few months.

  1. How wonderful do get to watch the family of Kookaburras, especially the juvenile as s/he learns the ropes of life and how to sing. Loved the sound clips! Your photos are gorgeous, s/he’s a little beauty!! Blessings to you and your wife for the new year, Ashley.
