Having finally come out of over 3 months lock-down here in Sydney, my wife and I decided to celebrate with a breakfast at our local National Park cafe, which we had missed for so long. Sadly, it was raining, as it had been several days now, but we sat outside under cover in the cool breeze enjoying the moment and the peaceful view of the trees and river. We were the only ones there this early and the staff all wore masks and kept their distance according to the rule. It was just lovely to be there again. The Cockies and Miners had already been around inspecting to see if any left over food morsels remained on the outdoor tables, which staff are constantly driving away. But they were far too early. So we were not able to do our usual walk after breakie and drove home again immediately afterward driving through 10 sets of green traffic lights, a first and simply amazing !
Since then my wife and I have been plunged back into isolation not long after our first freedom outing. Thankfully, the weather remained wet, cold and windy for several more days, and we have not yet been able to go out again as we continue in isolation, so I have no new findings to report. Hopefully we will get a much needed break next month, providing our freedom rules do not change again. Only the Lord knows what next week will bring. However, one thing that I have been learning more from this is:
“So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.” – 1 Timothy 6:8 (NLT)
“Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth.” – 1 Timothy 6:6
“ I can do all this through Him [Christ] who gives me strength.” – Philippians 4:13
