    • Thanks BJ, It is wonderful that there are some young ones who are interested in conservation and appreciation of our natural heritage, this has been my passion and legacy at present. How wonderful that some parents are sharing their passion for our natural world with their young, that is so cool!
We need to encourage our youth to take care and preserve our nature because there are many more who do not care and would exploit it to their own selfish ends. Have an enjoyable week!

  1. What an inspiring post, Ashley! I so agree with you and am trying to bring birds into my grandsons’ lives. The 7 year old still shows an interest in birds and loves your book, his 3 year old brother is following along. My youngest grandson will be 2 in February and he can already identify between a bird and duck and goose. 🙂 He loves looking at my bird photos on my laptop. And boats too, lol, but that is another story! 😉 Happy Sunday to you, my friend!

    • Thanks so much Donna! it is so good to have your encouraging comments again, and such a delight to read that your grandson like my book. Yes it is our place as grandparents to help our grandies appreciate the world they live in in all its natural beauty, as often their parents are too busy being parents and providing for their children as we were at their age. Have a most enjoyable weekend my friend! 🙂

  3. It’s a bigger challenge to get the young crowd to be interested on birds compared to adults. I get more success talking and explaining to grown ups, then they follow through and get involved in some way to be more in contact to Nature. Great post Ashley! 🙂

    • Thanks HJ, it is true that the young people today are a challenge to get interested in anything outdoors. Sadly there is a new breed of youth that spend most of their life inside. They don’t go out and play in the yard like we did or explore, some do but many I find are caught in the technology addiction. We likewise find older people interested mostly, so I have to work harder to encourage the young through my book talks and the book. Enjoy your weekend!

    • Thanks Lee, yes it was an amazing morning, for recently we did not see much down this track, but after the recent rain the bush is alive again and he got to see some beautiful birds. Have a restful weekend!
