    • True Myra, as I have seen birds drinking from unattended coffees in the past. Sadly yesterday I saw a Kookaburra steal a piece of bacon right under a man’s nose. He was quite put out by it, I tried to console him. These birds have such pin point accuracy and know how to get what they want from the unsuspecting open air diners.

  2. What a cheeky magpie! I bet you were taken by surprise. Although I’m sure it wasn’t the first time that magpie scored a bikkie! Wonderful photos of the goshawk, especially as it flew off, what a stunner. Lovely photos of the lighting amongst the greenery too. I’ve often read that people should spend more time in a forest as it is peaceful and regenerating and makes you feel better. And who wouldn’t want to spend time amongst the trees with beautiful scenes like in your photos. Have a great week! 🙂

    • Thanks Sue, yes the birds all hang about the open area of the cafe and the staff are constantly using large water pistols to remove them. I saw a Kookaburra steal a man’s bacon yesterday while having lunch there. He was caught by surprise, and had not even started eating it. They have such pinpoint accuracy. Yes the Goshawk was an answer to prayer as I wondered what gift God would give me in the rain forest, and this bird just turned up out of nowhere. Yesterday it was a beautiful Brown Gerygone and Scarlet Honeyeater, and at the last moment a Green Catbird, when I was returning from the rainforest. He just loves giving me special treats when I ask. These are birds I seldom see. It was a very special spiritual time for me as this will be the last time I will be able to spend so much time in the rainforest as I will start working full time again Monday.

  3. Hello! I love the illuminated palm frond and your paragraph about walking and talking with God along the track. If you were to grant me permission I’d do a post tmw using that photo and your paragraph with link back to this blog post and your blog. May I?
